BeeQueenBuzz helps beginners understand bees and plan their first hive. This page explains the scope and limits of the information on the site.
Our purpose
Care for bees is central to our guides. We want practical planning to sit alongside an understanding of pollination, wild pollinators and the ongoing responsibility of keeping a honey bee colony.
Sources and experience
Read each guide's sources and explanations to understand its basis. A researched guide is not evidence of the author's personal beekeeping experience or a product test. We do not claim credentials or hands-on testing unless a specific article documents them.
The homepage's pollination and habitat section links to FAO, Xerces and USDA resources. General guides do not replace local training, official rules or advice suited to your climate and colony.
Product comparisons and prices
Our starter-kit guide compares published supplier specifications and contents. It states its research basis and does not claim hands-on testing. Prices are snapshots, and stock, taxes and delivery costs may change. Check the supplier's current listing before buying.
Dates and updates
Publication and update dates identify content history. An update date does not mean every statement or linked price has been checked again. The existing guide collection has not undergone a complete new fact and price review as part of the site's redesign.
Local guidance
Rules, seasonal tasks and equipment standards differ by location. Confirm legal requirements with the relevant authority and discuss colony care with a local association or mentor. Pest treatments require current, locally applicable guidance and product instructions.
Commercial links
See our Affiliate Disclosure for information about affiliate links. A purchase link is not proof that a product has been personally tested. The starter-kit guide currently links directly to supplier listings.
Accuracy and corrections
If you notice an error, email hello@beequeenbuzz.com with the page URL, the statement and any useful source. Clear feedback helps identify what needs checking and correcting.
Our tone
Bees deserve curiosity and care. We aim for clear explanations, specific sources and realistic expectations. Neither a hive purchase nor a promise of honey can replace learning to look after a colony.
